Leafdapple and Icefire scurried through the underbrush, twisting like snakes around trees and pushing their light bodies over rocks and bushes. they were moving easily; they knew their suroundings well. they ran and ran. that is, until they reached a small river. Icefire slowly tiptoed down to the water's edge and began to lap it up, followed by Leafdapple. the sound of their tongues splashing against cold rang through the light fog for only a few seconds before being eaten up by the wind and the sounds of birds calling out to the morning breeze.
but the 2 females were on the move again. they took little breaks but they didn't run. instead, they walked and jogged a little. it took a while, but they finally reached a field, bordered in chopped up and thin pieces of tree. inside were the largest walking feasts they had seen in a while. this was the first time they had seen them alive, and they knew by heart and mind that it took more than 2 small wolves to take one of those dinners down.
